Commentary Featured in The Star on The Chief Justice’s Circular (No. 1/2026)

Our Managing Partner, Zander Lim, was featured in The Star Malaysia in relation to the Chief Justice’s Circular (No. 1/2026) concerning the requirement for judges to continue attending office during the court vacation period.

The circular, issued on 23 April 2026 by Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, formalises the expectation that the court vacation is not a pause in judicial responsibility, but a working period for the preparation of judgments, legal research, and the management of ongoing matters.

In his commentary, Zander highlighted that this is both timely and significant, particularly in the context of criminal and commercial crime cases, where delays in the delivery of grounds of judgment remain a recurring concern. The direction reinforces the broader duty of the courts to ensure that decisions are delivered efficiently and without undue delay.

This feature reflects ongoing engagement with developments affecting the administration of justice and the timely disposal of cases.
