After Almost a Decade, One of Sabah’s Largest Money Laundering Cases Comes to a Close

After nearly ten years of proceedings, one of Sabah’s largest money laundering cases has finally come to an end.

Our Managing Partner, Mr. Zander Lim Wai Keong, had the privilege of being part of the prosecution team entrusted with the conduct of this significant matter during his tenure as a Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. The case involved years of investigation, preparation, and litigation, reflecting the complexity and scale often associated with major financial crime prosecutions.

Zander worked alongside Deputy Public Prosecutors, namely Tuan Mahadi Jumaat and Tuan Haresh Prakash Somiah, in the prosecution of the case. He remains grateful for the opportunity to have served with such dedicated and professional colleagues throughout the proceedings.

The conclusion of this matter also marked Zander’s final case as a Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. His years in public service provided invaluable experience in the prosecution of corruption, money laundering, and other complex financial crime matters, while reinforcing the importance of integrity, accountability, and the rule of law.

As he continues the next chapter of his legal career as Managing Partner of Law Chambers of Zander Lim, Zander remains committed to contributing to the legal profession and the administration of justice in different capacities. The knowledge, experience, and values gained during his years in public service continue to shape his approach to legal practice and advocacy.

This milestone serves as a reflection on a significant chapter in Zander’s professional journey and his continued dedication to serving the legal fraternity and the wider public.
